Job Description
We are looking for a talented bartender to help shape the beverage identity of one of New York's growing independent restaurant groups. Experience with Japanese beverages is a plus.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves both creating exceptional cocktails and working behind the bar. You'll help shape the beverage identity of multiple restaurants, while remaining an active part of service during our busiest and most exciting shifts.
In Tune Hospitality is the team behind some of the Upper East Side's most loved restaurants and bars - Nightly's, Keys & Heels, Uva, Uva Next Door, and our latest Japanese concept, opening this fall.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for someone passionate about cocktails, hospitality, and creativity to help shape the next chapter of our beverage program.
This is a unique hybrid role, combining hands on bar shifts with the leadership responsibility of developing new cocktails seasonally, developing the cocktail program for opening concepts, and maintaining the quality control and vision of the cocktail programs across our portfolio -
all conveniently on one Manhattan block. This role would be a hybrid roll of lead bartender 3-4 key shifts a week, and 1-2 days development and operations. If you love creating cocktails - but still enjoy the energy of a busy Friday night behind the stick - we'd love to meet you.
You'll work closely with ownership and management on the creative direction of each venue, helping define everything from cocktail style and glassware to garnish, presentation and guest experience.
What the role will involve: - Hands on bar experience on fast paced nights
- Create seasonal cocktail menus and features
- Develop complete seasonal beverage programs—from initial concept and recipe development through costing, testing, rollout, training and quality control.
- Standardize recipes and build sheets
- Batch cocktails and oversee production with support from each bars team
- Maintain consistency across multiple venues
- Conduct regular quality control visits
- Analyze cocktail performance and evolve menus based on guest demand, seasonality and sales
- Train and mentor bartenders
- Assist with inventory management and product rotation
- Work with suppliers to source new spirits and ingredients
- Stay current on cocktail trends while keeping menus commercially successful
- Collaborate on beverage concepts for new openings
- Work 3–4 bartending shifts each week.
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences during service.
- Stay connected to guest feedback and evolving drinking trends.
- Support management during busy services and special events.
We're Looking For Someone Who: - Has several years of experience in high-volume cocktail bars or restaurants.
- Has experience creating or contributing to cocktail menus.
- Has experience in presenting, costing and teaching cocktails.
- Is highly organized and detail-oriented.
- Understands both creativity and operational efficiency.
- Is passionate about hospitality and enjoys mentoring others.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Ideally has experience with Japanese spirits, sake and shochu - a plus, but not essential.
MUST have high demand New York City serving experience, a confident, friendly personality, and be good at working a high energy, lively place and enjoy dynamic interactions with your guests. Vibe and professionalism are super important to us, so good energy, and an upbeat/can-do team spirit, warmth and rapport at your tables and the confidence to problem solve is what we are looking for!
NOTE: this is not for an immediate hire. We are looking for the right candidate, and ideally looking for a late August / September hire.
As our company grows, so will this role. The right candidate will have the opportunity to help shape the future beverage direction of every new concept we open, and evolve in their position within the company.
Compensation: Bartending shifts paid at our New York hourly tipped wage + tips. Beverage development and administrative responsibilities compensated separately at a competitive daily rate. Total annual compensation is expected to be approximately
$75,000–$120,000 , depending on service shifts worked and experience.
