Baptist Search Partners is excited to partner with First City Church to find their next Kids Pastor/Director.

About the Vision

The Kids Pastor/Director (5K-5th grade) at First City Church fulfills a key ministry leadership role that supports the church’s vision to reach the next generation. This person will both give primary leadership to Kids Ministry at the Alpharetta location and cast vision to equip and coach Kids Ministry staff at other locations (one for now in Hickory Flat). The right candidate will be an experienced Children’s Ministry leader with an engaging and joyful leadership style, a passion for leading children to Christ, a commitment to intentional discipleship of children, and an eagerness to engage elementary kids and families in the community and on school campuses.

First City Church is a church that is biblically faithful, committed to gospel sharing, relationally driven, and highly engaged in their community. This 120-year-old church is now experiencing a season of revitalization and rapid growth. At the heart of everything is the mission: to lead people to Know Jesus, Discover Hope, Experience Family, and Live Sent in pursuit of a Jesus-centered life. 

In September, the church launched its “Multiply” initiative which aims to purchase land for the Hickory Flat campus, begin a Thursday evening service at the Alpharetta campus, plant ten churches in ten years, and increase their emphasis on sharing Christ and baptizing new believers. Staff and volunteers serve shoulder to shoulder, united around a vision to see lives transformed and the gospel multiplied across North Georgia and beyond.  

About the Opportunity

Primary responsibilities include

·       Create and lead ministry that facilitates children following Jesus and growing as his disciples

·       Primary leadership at the Alpharetta location of all Kids Ministry groups, activities, and events including curricula selection and kids worship leadership/teaching

·       Ensure Kids Ministry programming, curricula, volunteer expectations, safety procedures, and ministry values are consistent across all assigned campuses

·       Recruit, train, motivate, and coordinate volunteer leadership

·       Maintain and regularly review ministry processes, procedures, and safety protocol

·       Meet with parents and children as necessary for spiritual encouragement and baptism conversations

·       Send cards, texts, make calls, and visit hospitals to care for children and their families

·       Oversee and implement events like monthly Big Wednesday, VBS, camps, and other fellowship and outreach events
